In many cultures, rain is a symbol of purity, renewal, and love, and it's said to be very good luck on a wedding day. Deepti & Bhavin’s fairytale Oheka Castle wedding wouldn’t be complete without it, but as the clouds rolled in that morning it seemed the chances of hosting an outdoor event were slowly slipping away. Resting majestically on the highest point of Long Island, Oheka Castle would be the perfect backdrop for Deepti & Bhavin’s dream celebration. Built in 1917 as the second largest private residence in America, the castle’s vast gardens and picturesque views of the Gilded Ager recall the elegant refinement of a French chateau. Naturally, the beauty of a fairytale castle wedding would be best appreciated outdoors.
So Deepti & Bhavin went for it and luckily their eager guests did too. Braving the rain, Bhavin and his family rocked a baraat from the castle gates while wedding guests huddled under umbrellas in their seats, not wanting to miss a moment of their beautiful Hindu wedding. The couple chose the castle’s Terrace Room for their reception, where guests danced the night away following a romantic candelit dinner of touching speeches by friends and family. We’re honored to have had the opportunity to capture this fairytale celebration for this beautiful couple.
